Glassworks Northwest
Handcrafted fused glass by artist
Each piece is hand cut, painted and fired using a kiln. Often, pieces are fired multiple times to get the right look. Everything is properly annealed so the glass is strong, very shiny and durable. The metal stake made by soldering the pieces and using all-weather epoxy to attach it to the back of the flower. The design is fused in and will not scratch or rub off.
I started working with glass in 2006, and immediately fell in love. All I wanted to do was play with glass and melt things in kilns. As with everything I do, I needed to learn as much as possible as quickly as possible. It's a lot of trial and error at first until you learn exactly what works -- and, more importantly, what doesn't. My husband, Chris, now works with me in every aspect of the business, and Glassworks Northwest is now a leading creator of hand-made fused-glass ornaments in the United States. We continue to add new designs and look for art inspiration in everything we do.
